چکیده

The approach of combining enzymatic and transition-metal catalysis has been focused almost exclusively on using purified, isolated enzymes. use whole-cell biocatalysis, instead enzymes, with catalysis, however, investigated only sparsely to date. Herein we present the development two catalyzed reactions used derivatize styrene obtained from biosynthesis. Using a biocompatible ruthenium cross-metathesis catalyst up 1.5 mM stilbene could be in presence E. coli, which simultaneously produced styrene. palladium catalysts arylboronic acids, titers 1 several derivatives were obtained. These are valuable additions toolbox combined biocatalysis offering possibility supplement biosynthetic pathways chemical versatility abiological catalysis.

Rh-catalyzed linear hydroformylation of styrene.

Usually the Rh-catalyzed hydroformylation of styrene predominantly yields the branched, chiral aldehyde. An inversion of regioselectivity can be achieved using strong π-acceptor ligands. Binaphthol-based diphosphite and bis(dipyrrolyl-phosphorodiamidite) ligands were applied in the Rh-catalyzed hydroformylation of styrene. High selectivities up to 83% of 3-phenylpropanal were obtained with 1,1-...

Chain- and Regioselective Ethylene and Styrene Dimerization Reactions Catalyzed by a Well-Defined Cationic Ruthenium-Hydride Complex: New Insights on the Styrene Dimerization Mechanism.

The cationic ruthenium-hydride complex [(eta(6)-C(6)H(6))(PCy(3))(CO)RuH](+)BF(4) (-) was found to be a highly regioselective catalyst for the ethylene dimerization reaction to give 2-butene products (TOF = 1910 h(-1), >95% selectivity for 2-butenes). The dimerization of styrene exclusively produced the head-to-tail dimer (E)-PhCH(CH(3))CH=CHPh at an initial turnover rate of 2300 h(-1). A rapid...

Reactions Catalyzed by Amidases

Although the metabolic deamidation of several naturally occurring amides and their analogues, e.g. glutamine (l-4) and nicotinamide (5), has been extensively investigated, it appeared of interest to extend to simpler aliphatic and aromatic derivatives our knowledge of the variety of compounds undergoing enzyme-catalyzed deamidation. Therefore, three compounds, acetamide, butyramide, and benzami...

Derivatization Reactions and Reagents for Gas Chromatography Analysis

Derivatization reactions are meant to transform an analyte for detectability in Gas Chromatography (GC) or other instrumental analytical methods. Derivatization in GC analysis can be defined as a procedural technique that primarily modifies an analyte’s functionality in order to enable chromatographic separations. A modified analyte in this case will be the product, which is known as the deriva...
